Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most, especially from people building from abroad. Can't find yours? Message us on WhatsApp.

Your project with CMR

What do you build?

Villas and houses, with or without a pool, residences, lodges, restaurants and hotels. We also renovate buildings and carry out structural work. A villa with a pool is our favourite kind of project.

Can you start from a bare plot of land?

Yes. On a bare plot, we build your house, villa, hotel or any other project, from the ground up to the finishing work. Tell us about the land and the project: the quote is free.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Tell us about your project on WhatsApp or through the form: the quote is free.

How quickly do you reply?

As quickly as possible, usually within the day. WhatsApp is fastest (+221 78 924 02 21).

When can work start?

There is no waiting list: once the paperwork is in order, work can start straight away.

How much does a villa cost?

We do not publish prices per square metre: the cost depends on the land, the floor area, the plans, the pool and the finishes. Tell us about your project — the quote is free.

Who supervises my building site?

Our site managers supervise the work, alongside the founder, Mamadou Camara.

Building from abroad

Can I start my project without travelling to Senegal?

The first conversations and the quote happen remotely, on WhatsApp: you can send photos of the land and your plans. Some administrative or notarial steps may require you to be present or to give power of attorney: ask the notary.

How will I be kept informed of progress?

Our site managers supervise the work, and WhatsApp remains the common thread. Tell us in our first conversation how you would like to be kept informed.

What currency is the budget in?

Give your rough budget in CFA francs (FCFA) in the form, even approximately. For reference, the exchange rate is fixed: €1 = 655.957 FCFA.

Land and paperwork

Do you handle the building permit?

Building permits are issued by the local council (mairie). Tell us where your application stands in our first conversation. Our guide explains the process and the documents usually required.

How do I know a plot of land is safe to buy?

In Senegal, only a land title (titre foncier) gives full, final ownership; a lease or a council allocation gives a right of use. Before buying, have the land checked by a notary (statement of registered rights at the land registry). Our land guide explains these checks.

Can you build right by the sea?

A 100-metre strip from the highest tide line is part of the public maritime domain and cannot be privately owned. Check with the local council and planning services before any seafront project.

Areas and contact

Which areas do you cover?

We work mainly on the Petite Côte (Mbour, Saly, Somone, Ngaparou, Warang, Nianing), where we are based. We also work in Dakar and throughout Senegal; outside the Petite Côte, travel costs are added to the quote.

How can I contact you?

The easiest way is WhatsApp, on +221 78 924 02 21 (Wabili Camara). You can also call +221 77 460 59 30 (Mamadou Camara), email constructions.camara@gmail.com or fill in the quote form.
